Once upon a time there was a donkey who, for long years, had tirelessly carried sacks of wheat to the mill for his master. But time forgives no one, and his strength began to fade. Realizing that his master planned to get rid of him to avoid feeding him anymore, the donkey decided to take the reins of his own destiny. "I will go to Bremen," he thought optimistically, "there my voice is still strong and I can become a town musician."
